Salwaar Kameez is going to be fashion statement in Pakistan, while several Indian designers have tried this out.
Zara Shehzahaan, a Pakistani designer says, “Pakistani women are extremely fashion conscious but they still prefer eastern wear, the age-old Salwaar Kameez. I have re-introduced this dress as something ‘fashionable’, giving it an altogether different look from being an ordinary wear.”

Zara, Lahore-based designer is presently here for Bridal Asia 2007with other fellow designers to showcase the finesse of bridal craft of their homeland. Zara is totally impressed by the Parsi embroidery work weaved by many Indian designers, and known as perfect blend of eastern and western.
Pakistani designer Tazeen Hasan comments “Indian fashion designers are much more wild in their art and designing. By wild I mean passionate and enjoy freedom to experiment with the layouts and cuts. But, fashion faces a lot of conservatism in Pakistan, no matter how much fashion conscious the community is.”
