Years back the technology that used to design children shoes has advanced to a level to produce a baby.  If the growth booms at such a level then the day is not far when mothers would be delivering rocking babies, all set-to-go for a party.  Thanks to the power of fashion that is influencing our present generation, thereby inviting brands like Inter Coiffure Mondial (ICD), the world’s largest organisation of fashion hair stylists to India.

Following this the organization has launched its Indian chapter on 6 June in association with Wella Professionals, an established name in professional hair cosmetics, innovation and trend spotting with 15 leading hair designers of India.

Headquartered in the Paris fashion district, ICD is presently ruling 42 countries (to name few Paris, New York, Tokyo, Berlin, London and Rome) with over 2300 innovative hair designers spread all over the globe.

The move can be seen a way towards achieving organisation’s aim to build a network in the world of fashion and create bridge for stylists to interact with each other.

The leaders of the member salons are very fashion oriented and wish to add and practice another dimension to their craft. The Intercoiffure’s team works with the established names in the fashion industry on regular basis besides creating exclusive collection of spring/summer and autumn/winter trends (a photo-kit of these creations is sent from Paris to each member world wide).

Besides ICD Mondial President Klaus Peter Ochs, also present at the launch were leading International Hair Stylists - Heinz Auer (Board Member), Dr. Karl Schroeder (President, IMM SAS), Silvia Piccolotto and Nobuyaki Katoh (Board member ICD Mondial).

Staging the luxurious glamour, contemporary sensuality, the day witnessed a premium runaway hair show ‘Trendz by Wella’ that brought alive the global hairstyle and lifestyle trends.

Werner Robert, managing director, Wella India said: “Wella has had a long association with Inter Coiffure Mondial worldwide and we are proud to launch its India chapter. With the launch of the Wella Trend Vision Award 2007 recently in India, we hoped to provide young hairstylists with a platform to showcase their talent. With ICD-India, we hope to provide India’s leading fashion hair stylists a channel to take their hair artistry to the world.”

Dr. Blossom Kochhar who played a key role in bringing ICD to India said: “It will give the Indian hair designers a chance to mingle and exchange ideas with the best in the world.  It had always been my dream to put Indian hair dressing industry on the world map and today my dream has come true.”
 

The ICD presence in India will help in recognizing hair designing as the integral part of the fashion world. The founder members of Indian chapter of ICD are well known hair designers from all over India including Nalini of Nalini and Yasmin(Mumbai), Coleen Khan, (Mumbai), June Tomkyns (Kolkata), Manjul Gupta of Bodycraft (Bangalore), Lulua Merchant of Swirl Salon (Bangalore), Dhharram Mehta of Rudra (Mumbai), Rashid Khan (Chandigarh), Ishani of Oleega Hair & Beauty Studio (Chandigarh), Kalika Bhatt of L’A Belle Vie (Baroda) besides celebrity hair designers from New Delhi including Ambika Pillai of Ambika Pillai Salon,  Slyvie, Dr. Blossom Kochhar of Blossom Kochhar Salon, Samantha Kochhar of Bloss Beauty Salon, Sumit Israni of Geetanjali Salon, Ruchi Malhotra and Najeeb Rehman of Gaur Hair Dressers.
