Tropism Vase- A Piece of Art

June 28th, 2007

Tropism Vase
Design studio Commonwealth and Graphic Designer Joshua Davis have made beautiful and unconventional vases using animation software exported to rapid prototyping. The base object was digitally designed and manufactured by Commonwealth. This base was then used to make a limited series of 21 porcelain vases by Boehm Porcelain. Davis then wrote software programs for the graphic paint that uniquely details each digital-porcelain vase. Davis has to exhibit the computationally driven set of prints.

Maya, the animation software used for animated 3D films has been used by Commonwealth to make this one. Is it not stylish and innovative?

These are the stereo lithography “prints”. They look really fabulous. I like them very much.

This is a unique graphic paint by Joshua Davis. It is unconventional and a wonderful piece of creation.

Also on show are Joshua Davis’ computationally driven set of prints curated by Maxalot. It is really a work which is absolutely spectacular and stunning. I would term it as an exquisite piece of art.
