Fall 2007 Couture: Chanel

The Chanel couture show was really amazing. It may have taken place during the rains and would have also led to ruining of the shoes of the front row attendees in the mud, but the bad weather proved to be a strong contrast for the wonderful dresses that Karl Lagerfeld had designed. The designer dresses were awesome and absolutely stylish.
The show opened with a little variation from the classic Chanel suit, and then there was a display of an array of exquisite designer silhouettes from sequins to leather to feathers. The varied designs were really a work of art and all the credit goes to the amazing designer Karl.
He seems to have been influenced by the ancient times: the head coverings remind us of the helmets worn by the medieval knights, while the feathery and furry dresses are reminiscent of the falconry in the middle Ages. The show ended with a bridal dress covering the body of the model from head to toe…. And it was really a masterpiece.
I found all the designer pieces as alluring and tempting. It is the genius of the designer that each time he is able to bring laurels to any theme he chooses through which to display his talent.
